Vineyard Moze Berthon is in the family since 1820, today Patrick Moze Berthon manage the properties of Montagne Saint-Emilion and Pomerol accompanied with his older son Mickael who represents the 7eme generation.
Since the vintage 2014 we decided to call on to the experience of Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, wine-making councillor internationally famous and also co-owner of Château Angelus in Saint-Emilion. Further to this decision we have began to renovate completely the cellar of Pomerol and to create a new cuvée Château Mallet.

The Hectare and half of the Château Maillet is situated on very prestigious and very intimist naming of Pomerol.
The terroir of Pomerol brings the delicacy and the perfect maturity and our small yields contribute to an exceptional concentration.
The complete wine making in barrels allows us to obtain round, complex wines, with a big aromatic precision and one finale silky.

Tasting notes: Vintage 2015 :

James Suckling: 97-98/100
This is really incredible with so much fruit and structure. Tannic and rich. Mind-blowing. Almost pure merlot and amazing for it. Half a hectare and 6,000 bottles made. 95% merlot and 5% cabernet franc. Wow.

Yves Beck: 93-94/100
Red Garnet with purplish tints. Elegant bouquet with good intensity. Notes of black fruits, blueberry, Morello cherry and some blackcurrant. Nice hint of Mint giving freshness. Fruity, dense and refreshing to the palate. Body is well balanced with nice acidity and silky tannins. A nice persistence in mouth. A winery to follow closely.

Jeff Leve : 93 – 95 Pts

A new wine from Pomerol! Chateau Maillet, along Hubert de Bouard as consultant, has created a wine with winning character. On the palate, this wine is all about its juicy, fresh, plum liqueur, black raspberry, floral and truffle personality. The finish is like sinking into a fine feathered, hotel boudoir, quite silky and long with a line of dark chocolate on your pillow. There is no sensation of heat from the 14.5% alcohol level. The wine was produced from a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
